Standards, Strategy Sessions, Student Success, and some Snippets...
We've been hosting some ‘Facilitated Listening’ sessions over the last month – which, as you might guess, emphasise the listening over the talking! When a group gathers with a real focus on listening, the dynamic shifts. Conversations become more constructive, and decisions more considered. And, dare we say, it’s been great fun too!
This month, our attention turns to standards, verifications, and certifications – and the ripple effects of the new EU Directives. Many businesses assume these directives don’t apply to them, and technically, they may not. But in practice? The knock-on effects will reach almost everyone in some way. So, we’re unpacking that in this newsletter.
At The Tourism Space, we’ve made our own commitments to verified standards – B Corp, university accreditation, and now progressing through CPD certification. It’s a serious investment of time, money, and headspace. And, if we’re honest, motivation can take a hit at times. So, we know first-hand that jumping into certification needs careful thought. For us, it’s clear what aligns with our business and what doesn’t. But for tourism operators? The landscape is far less certain. Right now, there's a strong push toward certification, but the options are complex and, frankly, a bit of a minefield. In this month’s article, we share some thoughts on how to navigate it wisely.
And then there’s March – a month that always brings a bit of madness! In Ireland, we’ve just wrapped up celebrating our Matron Saint Brigid in February. Now it’s time to take to the streets for Patron Saint Patrick Parades and other fun – a celebration that echoes around the world. We’ll be raising a (green!) glass to that.
Hope it's a great month ahead for you.
